Giant manta (Manta birostris). This is the world's largest ray. Its pectoral fins may span a total length of up to six metres and it can weigh up to 3,000 kilograms. It inhabits subtropical pelagic (open-ocean sone) waters in the western Atlantic and feeds on plankton and small fish.
