Green lynx spider (Peucetia viridans) spinning a web. This is a hunting spider noted for its bright green colour, and is known as a lynx spider due to its ability to leap on its insect prey. It does not use a web to capture its prey, but the female spins a web to secure her egg sac. The female green lynx spider is larger than the male, and can reach a body size of 2 centimetres.
