Huntsman spider being removed from a camper van. The woman is using a stick to encourage it to leave the space between the glass of the window and the insect screen. Huntsman spiders (family Sparassidae) are widespread throughout Australia and are notorious for being found in cars. Their flattened bodies allow them to hide behind loose bark,in rock crevices and behind car sun visors. Huntsman spiders measure up to 15 centimetres across (including their legs) and most are grey or brown in colour. This spider is not poisonous | |
