Dead fly. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of an unidentified fly (order Diptera) that has been killed by impact with a car windscreen. Insects can help in solving crimes,an area named forensic entomology. Some insects are specific to certain locations and can be used as evidence for whether a suspect has been at a crime scene. The best evidence comes from non-flying insects that have been crushed into the treads of a tyre. This proves direct contact with the soil at the scene of a crime. Magnification unknown | |
