Trilobite beetle (Duliticola sp.) on a forest floor. This distinctive beetle earned its common name from the likeness of the female (seen here) to the extinct Trilobite arthropods. It is an example of a neotonous organism, one that retains its juvenile characteristics throughout maturity. Examples of this beetle have been found in Singapore,Southeast Asia,India and the East Indies. Photographed in the Kinabalu National Park,Sabah,Malaysian Borneo | |
