A large green bush cricket (family Tettigoniidae) found on the Caribbean island of St Vincent & seen here on a papaya leaf. Its brilliant green colour is due to a pigment formed by the insect & not as a result of chlorophyll ingested in the diet. The colour & the markings on the wings closely resemble the leaves that form the insect's environment | |
