Green darners (Anax junius) over a pond. This is one of the largest dragonflies found in North America,reaching up to 75 millimetres in length. It is found near still or very slow-moving water with lots of aquatic vegetation. The green darner is carnivorous,feeding on aquatic insects,tadpoles and very small fish.
