Damselflies. Two pairs of damselflies,Agrionides sp.,laying eggs after mating. Each pair consists of a male (blue) who clasps the neck of the female (green) with the end of his abdomen. The damsel- flies, after mating whilst flying, find a plant on the surface of a pond. The eggs are laid on the plant's underwater stalks or leaves.
