Harlequin shrimp (Hymenocera picta, upper centre) turning over a starfish (Fromia monilis). The harlequin shrimp turns live starfish upside-down,so that they can not get away. It then drags the starfish to a feeding area where its epidermis is pierced and the inner tissue is pulled out to be eaten. The male hunts and feeds alone, but does form a stable pair with a female.
