Harbour fortress tower. This is Belem Tower,built in the 16th century in Lisbon,Portugal,to defend the harbour. It co-ordinated with two other towers to guard the mouth of the River Tagus,on whose banks Lisbon stands. Construction began in 1514,and it was finished by 1520.
