Wright Flyer on display in 1908 at Le Mans,France. Following the first ever powered flight in the Wright Flyer I at Kitty Hawk in 1903,the Wright brothers continued to develop their aircraft design. In January 1907 they submitted their design to the US War Department, which had requested designs to develop a military aircraft. The following year they travelled to Europe to try and gain sales. Only France showed interest due in part to aviation enthusiasts that were flying similar aircraft | |
