Aeroplane. Claude Grahame-White piloting the Farman aircraft he used to make the first-ever night flight. The night flight was made over Britain during the London to Manchester air race in 1910,the same year as Grahame-White (1879- 1959) became the first British person to gain a certificate of proficiency in aviation.
