Paper reels. Stacks of manufactured paper reels in the storage area of a paper mill prior to distribution. Paper is made from the cellulose fibres in wood. Raw wood is chipped and fed into huge digesters with water, where chemicals, heat and high pressure make the fibres separate. The resulting pulp is then bleached to make it white and poured out into flat sheets to let water drain away. The sheets are pressed and dried to make the paper, which may also be coated with clay or chalk to make it smoother | |
