Cardiff Bay barrage,Cardiff,Wales,UK,opening to allow a small boat to pass through. The barrage was constructed as part of a regeneration project to improve Cardiff's disused docklands and to attract investment into the area. The barrage creates a large freshwater lake,which includes a fish pass to allow salmon into the River Taff and the River Ely. Construction began in 1994 and the barrage was completed in 1999.
