MODEL RELEASED. Virtual reality car design. View of a group of technicians studying a virtual reality view of the boot of a new car. They are wearing spectacles which make the picture seem three-dimensional. By designing models of new cars on computers in a virtual world, they can be rigorously studied and tested before ever being built. This saves the time and cost of building real models, and allows design flaws to be noticed and corrected quickly and cheaply. Here, the technicians are modifying the floor of a new Nissan Almera Estate. This technology has been developed at the Nissan European Technology Centre,Cranfield,England | |
