Digital cello. Dr. Bernd Schoner of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab,USA,playing his invention,a digital cello. When played, this cello feeds data into a computer via the sensors at lower centre. The computer then digitally improves the sound to that of a high-quality master cello. The computer uses mathematical models constructed from data obtained from a real master cello being played by an expert cello player. Another of the goals of Schoner's research is to create a digital violin capable of faithfully reproducing the sound made by an original Stradivarius violin | |
