Humanoid robot head. View of circuits and wiring inside the head of 'Joey Chaos',a humanoid robot created by Hanson Robotics,USA. The robot's skin is composed of a spongy polymer, called 'Frubber',which is light and flexible enough to be controlled by small servo motors within the head. The head also contains motion detecting and speech recognition sensors that send signals to an external computer running artificial intelligence software. The computer reacts by controlling the servo motors to produce facial expressions and speech. Photographed in 2007 | |
