Spider robot. Prototype (G2) modular robot (PolyBot) walking in a field. PolyBots are made from a number of self-contained modules,each having its own on-board computer,infrared sensor,power supply,motor and connectors. Each module's computer allows it to function and move independently. When modules are connected together and a central control circuit added,the modules can move as a whole. In this case they move using their four "legs",in a similar way to a spider. Commercial uses could include search and rescue.
