Electricity transmission pylons. High-voltage electricity transmission cables dominate the sky over a sleepy village. The American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) describes the electromagnetic fields from transmission lines as a "probable human carcinogen". Residents in the village seen here (Glenview in the Western Highlands,Scotland) have voiced concern over the high incidence of cancers found in people living under or near these pylons. However,as of early 1992,no British medical study had established a definite link between cancer and living near transmission lines | |
