Power station water outlet. This is cooling water, water that is used to cool and condense the steam that power stations use to drive turbines for the generation of electricity. The cooling water is itself heated by this process and requires cooling in large cooling towers (not seen). If still warm, its release back into the environment may damage fragile marine ecosystems.
