Nuclear power station construction. Workers at the lower end of a steam generator for a nuclear power plant,preparing it for heat treatment. The joints of the metal,welded structure are heated to 610 degrees Celsius to strengthen them. The heating is done with this electrically powered fibre glass blanket (white). A steam generator is a structure used in pressurized water reactors (PWRs). Heat is transfered from the nuclear reactor in the form of hot pressurized water that enters through the two circular connections seen here.
