Astronaut James B. Irwin,lunar module pilot,is seen here with the Lunar Roving Vehicle during the Apollo 15 mission. Apollo 15 was the fourth manned lunar landing mission and the first to carry the Lunar Roving Vehicle. This craft held two passengers and was able to travel up to ten miles per hour. It was equipped with a lunar surface camera visible as a gold box to the right of the dish antennae. The shadow in the foreground is of the lunar module "Falcon". Mount Hadley is in the background.
