Apollo 14 recovery. Rescuer assists astronaut Edgar Mitchell to emerge from the Apollo 14 command module during its recovery from the sea. Apollo 14 was launched on 31 January and was the third manned mission to land on the Moon. Astronauts Mitchell and Alan Shepard landed,whilst Stuart Roosa remained in orbit in the command module. Apollo 14 returned to Earth on 9 February 1971,landing in the south central Pacific.
