Altair and Tarazed stars. These stars lie in the constellation Aquila,the eagle,which is best seen in the summer in the northern hemisphere. Altair (Alpha Aquilae,lower left) is the 16th brightest star in the night sky. It lies just under 17 light years from Earth. At centre is Tarazed (Gamma Aquilae),a bright orange giant star that is over 100 times wider than the Sun. It lies around 460 light years from Earth | |
