Starbirth region NGC 7129,optical image. The cluster of stars at the centre of the image is very young, less than one million years old. The strong stellar winds from the young stars has excavated a hole in the nebula from which they formed. The edges of this hole nearest the stars are glowing pink as the hydrogen there is ionised by radiation from the stars. The region lies in the constellation Cepheus | |
