Orion Nebula Cluster. Coloured infrared image of stars in the Orion Nebula Cluster. This region contains thousands of stars. At the centre is the Trapezium Cluster,containing very young,massive stars. Just upper right from this is a reddish collection of stars in the BN-KL complex. Toward lower left is the Orion Bar,a photodissociation region. These objects are part of the Orion Molecular Cloud,1470 light years from Earth.
