The constellations of Grus,the Crane,and Piscis Austrinus (or Australis),the Southern Fish. Piscis Austrinus is an ancient constellation,lying to the south of Aquarius. In legend the Southern Fish was one of the parents of Pisces,the familiar fish of the zodiac. The constellation of Grus was introduced by Johann Bayer in 1604. It was known previously by Arabian astronomers as another southern fish. During the eighteenth century,the constellation was also known as the Flamingo.
