Voyager 2 colour composite image of Titania, taken through separate violet and clear filters,on Jan 24,1986. Titania is one of the largest of Uranus's satellites having a diameter of 1600km. The surface of the moon shows many scars due to impacts. Also visible is a large trench-like feature near the terminator (day-night boundary) suggesting an episode of tectonic activity in its geological history (photo middle right). The basin-like structure (photo upper right) is evidence of past heavy impact activity. The neutral grey colour is characteristic of all Uranian satellites | |
