Voyager 1 photograph of the rings of Saturn. The false-colour,computer-enhanced image shows the underside of the rings. This view is dramatically different from the appearance of the sunlit face of the rings. For example,the B-ring (here coloured magenta) is dark from this side,whereas it is the brightest component of the rings on the sunlit side.
