Titan's surface as seen by the spaceprobe Huygens on January 14th 2005. The image has been processed to give a suitable indication of the actual colour on the surface. The two rock-like objects just below the centre of the image are about 15cm (left) and 4cm (centre) across at a distance of about 85cm from Huygens. The surface is darker than expected and consists of a mixture of water and hydrocarbon ice. Some evidence of erosion is evident at the base of these objects | |
