Hubble Space Telescope. The vast Hubble Space Telescope (HST) seen shortly after capture by Shuttle Endeavour at the start of the first HST servicing mission,STS-61. This photo was taken as the crew manipulated the HST to allow ground controllers to study its exterior. In a subsequent series of five spacewalks,the crew of the Shuttle replaced one of the HST's cameras and its solar panels,installed a corrective optics package and completed many other servicing tasks.
