Hubble Space Telescope. The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) seen in orbit after being serviced during Shuttle Mission STS-61. In the course of five shifts of spacewalks by four of the crew, the HST was given a new camera, new solar panels, new stabilising equipment and a corrective optics package. Many secondary tasks were also completed. Much of this work should help overcome the aberration experienced by the HST due to an incorrectly-configured main mirror. Mission STS-61 flew on 2-13 December 1993 | |
