Search for extra-terrestrial intelligence (SETI). Illustration of a large radio dish antenna receiving signals from aliens while pointing into the night sky. Obscure symbols emanating from the target star represent the alien signal. The SETI project was set up by NASA,and involved the Arecibo and 34 metre Goldstone antennas scanning the sky for radio signals from extra-terrestrial civilisations. The project was cancelled due to funding difficulties at NASA,yet a portion of the project continues by the SETI Institute under the name Project Phoenix. The search has yet to find evidence of alien intelligence | |
