| Astronomical dome construction. Metal framework of a telescope dome during its construction. When complete,the dome will be mounted on the walls of an observatory to cover a telescope. The wheels at the base of the dome allow it to be rotated,enabling the telescope to be pointed through the viewing aperture at any region of the sky.
