Wild horses in a pen. Wild horses (Equus caballus) that have been herded in to a stone- walled pen (curros) for a Spanish festival known as 'la rapa das bestas' (the shearing of the beasts). During this festival, which traces its origins to the 16th century, the men of the village climb into the pen, overpower the horses and cut off their manes and tails.
