MODEL RELEASED. Fashion body mapping. Woman having her body measured by a computer scanner. She is standing in the measuring booth while a digital camera takes a front view image of her. Combined with a profile view, the software then calculates 50 to 60 precise measurements of her body. This technique could be used for individual fashion design, rather than relying on the standardised sizes used by most clothes manufacturers, which do not take into account the variations from person to person. This system is being developed by Stephen Gray,a professor of computer graphics,at the fashion and textiles department at Nottingham Trent University,England | |
