The human foetus during the 3rd month of development,surrounded by the protective layers of the chorion (outer layer) and the fluid-filled amnion. After 8 weeks the embryo has become a foetus,ie it vaguely resembles the ultimate infant. During the 3rd month growth is rapid,weight increases 8-10 fold: the eyes have migrated from the sides of the head,& the primitive features of the nose,ear & mouth have been formed.
