Spinal nerve ganglion. Light micrograph of a section through a spinal nerve ganglion. This collection of nerve cells (neurones, purple) is responsible for processing sensory information or for coordinating impulses from other neurones. Each neurone is surrounded by flattened support cells (light blue) known as satellite cells. A bundle of nerve fibres (dark blue) is also seen. Chains of spinal ganglia lie on either side of the spinal cord. Kluver-Barrera stain. Magnification unknown | |
