Artificial respiration training. Mannikin head with neck and inflatable lungs,is used to train in advanced resuscitation techniques where there may be head injuries. This is part of an ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) course at the Royal College of Surgeons in London,England. The participants are qualified juniour or senior hospital doctors,anaesthetists,etc. The mannikin has been fitted with a breathing tube to unblock its damaged airways. Before artificial respiration (the "kiss of life") can be given,facial,neck and lung injuries must be checked. Chest draining and tracheotomy surgical techniques are also practiced on this course | |
