Circadian rhythm experiment. Male subject plays the guitar late at night during a circadian rhythm experiment. Electrodes are attached to his head to measure brainwaves (EEG) and facial response. His playing performance is monitored. In this way his alertness levels during sleep deprivation,rest- activity & patterns of sleep are researched. These patterns are controlled by circadian rhythms,a human biological clock. Human circadian rhythms are triggered by bright light. By controlling these rhythms, the alertness of night workers can be increased and sleep disorders can be treated.
