Testicular cancer. Gross specimen of a testicle (sliced open) in a case of a dysembryoma,a type of malignant tumour. More specifically,it is a type of teratoma,a tumour from pluripotent germ cells. As these cells can form all three types of embryonic tissues, the resultant tumours can be labelled mixed. Because it is a disorder of the germ cells,it is most often found in the testes in males and ovaries in females. Treatment is by surgical removal of the affected testis | |
