MODEL RELEASED. Testicular inflammation. Acute inflammation of the testis and epididymis of an 83-year-old man. This condition is called epididymo-orchitis and is caused by an infection. Often there is no obvious source, but sometimes it may be due to a bacterial urinary tract infection that has spread along the vas deferens (sperm duct). In rare cases,epididymo-orchitis results from the spread of tuberculosis. The symptoms of severe pain and swelling are similar to testicular torsion and this needs to be ruled out. Treatment includes antibiotic drugs and rest | |
