It is used with devices such as: the cap or diaphragm (white,lower left),the cervical cap (brown,lower left) or the sponge (white,lower centre). Below the can are 3 male condoms; one packaged,one rolled up,and one unrolled. At centre right is a packet of Minulet oral contraceptive pills. These contain hormones which stop the release of the egg. Below the pills is an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) or "coil". When this is inserted into the uterus it is thought to stop the fertilised egg implanting in the uterine wall | |
