Fallopian tube test, endoscope view. One of the two ovaries (white) is at upper centre. At left of the ovary is the end of its fallopian tube. This area at the end of a fallopian tube, which wraps round the ovary,is called the fimbrial area. The blue dye (methylene blue) colouring the image has been injected into the fallopian tubes through the uterus. This is to test whether the tubes are blocked. The dye is seen here (in the abdominal cavity) because it has successfully passed through the fallopian tubes, showing that they are not blocked. Other abdominal organs are across bottom | |
