Adhesions are bands of scar tissue that form between organs as a response to tissue trauma. They usually result from abdominal surgery but can be caused by endometriosis,a condition where uterine tissue is found abnormally growing in other areas of the body. Adhesions found between Fallopian tubes and ovaries may prevent the ovary eggs from travelling down the fallopian tubes to the uterus. Any adhesions that cause reproductive dysfunction or pain are usually removed surgically
