Uterus with septum, endoscope view. The uterus is the rounded pink organ across centre. Here,it is seen from inside the abdominal cavity. It has a congenital deformity called a uterine septum. This is an internal wall dividing the uterus in two. It arises because the uterus forms by the fusion of two separate tubes. The wall where the two tubes fuse usually disappears to form the cavity inside the uterus. If the wall remains,it is called a uterine septum. The condition usually does not interfere with pregnancy, but if it does interfere it can be removed surgically. This image is a few centimetres across | |
