The opening of the woman's urethra (for urination) is seen at upper centre. Below this most of the sealed vagina has been opened. Closing of the vagina is common in parts of Africa to prevent sexual intercourse. Circumcision may lead to injuries during intercourse,an increased risk of injury in childbirth and psychological problems such as loss of sexual desire. There is no medical purpose for the procedure.
