Uterine adenocarcinoma. Light micrograph of adenocarcinoma cancer in the endometrium of the human uterus. The endometrium is the uterine lining. Here its surface epithelial cells are seen stained pink and forming cavities (white) which open to uterine glands. Adenocarcinoma cells with large dark nuclei are invading the uterus surface and its glands,causing the area to have a diffuse appearance. Endometrial adenocarcinoma is the most common cancer of the uterus,which usually occurs in post-menopausal women. Tumour cells can spread rapidly. Treatment may include surgery and use of anticancer drugs. Haematoxylin and Eosin stained cells. Magnification: x100 at 35mm size
