Anti-aging cream. Woman's finger scoops some anti- aging and moisturising cream from a jar. Beside moisturisers, the cream contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) complexes and chemicals which block ultraviolet (UV) light. Cosmetic moisturising creams such as this are used to make skin appear younger. Moisturising chemicals are absorbed by the upper layers of skin and cause it to swell, making wrinkles appear smaller. AHAs cause the skin to shed dead cells more quickly, making the skin appear more shiny. The cream also protects the skin by blocking the UV rays in sunlight. UV rays damage the collagen beneath the skin surface which gives skin its firmness and elasticity | |
