Antimalarial tablets. Box and blister packs of Paludrine and Avloclor antimalarial tablets. Paludrine (proguanil hydrochloride) and Avloclor (chloroquine phosphate) are taken together as the malarial parasites in some areas are resistant to one of the drugs. People travelling to areas in which malaria is prevalent should take these pills before, during and after their trip. Malaria is caused by the presence of Plasmodium sp. parasites in the blood. The parasites are spread by the bites of infected female Anopheles sp. mosquitoes | |
